Become a Health Champion

We are continuing our drive to recruit 2700 Health Champions in south Warwickshire. It’s easy to become a Health Champion and anyone can become one.

Here's what our Health Champions have been up to so far...

Pancake Day 2017 was ‘flippin’ awesome! Check out the NHS south Warwickshire CCG team who battled against the miserable weather and pancake hunger in order to recruit lots more Health Champions, including the Mayor of Warwick, Christine Cross. They're not just on camera, check out our short video here!

There are plenty of benefits of becoming a Health Champion, check out the Coventry United Ladies Football Club discuss staying well, using NHS111 and much more... Just click on the image below, enjoy!

Have you still not made your mind up about becoming a Health Champion? We’ve been chatting to Simon Perkin from Warwick who has just become a Health Champion. Simon competed in the British Transplant Games having had blood cancer and bone marrow transplants, and will this year be competing in the World Transplant Games, he has also just become Run Director for Leamington Parkrun. Become a Health Champion here. Click on the picture below to see why Simon decided he'd become a Health Champion.

When you sign up to be a Health Champion your role can be as big or small as you like. The main role Health Champions play is to talk to friends, family, colleagues and the community about health related issues. This could be as simple as telling a friend about NHS 111, complete an online survey about local health services or being invited to a consultation meeting. The more adventurous Health Champions may for example even talk to a community group about staying well in winter.

By becoming a South Warwickshire Health Champion you have the opportunity to have your voice heard and be involved in the important decisions that the CCG have to make.

Health Champions:

  • Receive regular news and updates about what is happening in south Warwickshire's health care services

  • Take part in surveys and consultations to influence the development of services and how we spend our money

  • Get involved in events, health seminars and other patient and public involvement activities

  • Become a health care champion to help us involve other local people, patients and carers across south Warwickshire.

We currently have hundreds of Health Champions in south Warwickshire who have signed up to work with us to improve health services in their area. We think that our Health Champions are a fantastic asset to the CCG and we are committed to providing multiple opportunities for you to influence our decision making.
